When we arrived at the church on Monday, we had a talk with Emily as we were still unsure about our final installation. During the weekend, even though many ideas have been exchanged within the group, we were still unable to lay out any solid plans due to having not visited the church prior therefore not knowing the scale in which to build our installation. Looking back at our presentation feedback, one of the key elements pointed out to us were how our installation was too "sophisticated", therefore misrepresenting the playfulness of the children within the novel. At first we decided to alter the plan a bit and create an installation similar to our Text, Script, Sound outcome however, we remembered the positive feedback that our twigs received from our display workshop and we were conscious of the limited amount of time provided therefore we decided to go down that route. As we were approaching tea and still brainstorming, Emily suggested us to just start making things and see how our idea develops down the way. This was quite foreign to me as I was used to working from plan and therefore having to think spontaneously on the spot proven to be quite difficult. So we decided to throw all plans out the window and collect twigs during our break to put together in the afternoon just to provided us with a foundation to work and develop from.

After regrouping, we got on to making the teepees and at first, we wanted to use either metal or string in order to hold the twigs together however by using such binding methods, we will lose the sense of fragility in our teepees so therefore we used masking tape in order to adhere the teepees together as the masking tape is made out of paper, an organic material, and its off white colour doesn't stand out too much against the twigs. We also liked the rushed, haphazard way the masking tape looked as it sometimes get bunched in the process of taping the twigs together.

We also managed to find bigger more intricate branches therefore we decided to sort our teepees into varying heights and see how many we have.

We were very surprised to see that the teepees were strong enough to stand on their own without having to add other elements therefore we decided that this idea was what we are gonna go for for our final installation and called it a day.
