As I am originally from Thailand and do see myself going back to work in Thailand, I have decided to interview Ms. Rapeepun Sudharomna, a director at TBWA Thailand Co.,LTD to see whether or not the creative industry in Thailand differs from the creative industry here in England.
What made you go into freelancing?
I prefer flexible hours over office hours and I want to be my own boss.
What do you enjoy/ not enjoy about freelancing?
Flexible hours. Have time to do what I want.
You can decided to take a job or not.
What skills do you need to go into freelancing?
Depends on your line of work. For the advertising world, it can range from visualiser, retoucher, photographer, creative ( either art or copy writer), producer to planner or even account management.
What are your day to day duties?
Come into the office that I work under. Getting a brief. Sometimes work at home, sometimes work with the team at the office.
What are he problems you encounter when freelancing and how did you overcome them?
Sometimes there can be a lot of work but also sometimes theres no work at all.
Make connections with people and they will contact you when they have work.
How did you make connections with other artists within the creative industry?
Circle of friends.
Companies that I used to work at.
Do you think networking is important for freelancers?
Very important.
