Over the past month or so, I have been restless , feeling that I was producing the same work over and over therefore gradually losing interest in my work which in time, affected my motivation and ability to produce work that really thrills me. As of this, I wanted to branch out to different mediums and possibly go back and work with mediums that I might have not worked with in a while and possibly get back or discover another way of working that I really like and feel that it lends itself to what narrative I want to convey. Therefore, I decided to try a different approach where I try and create a collage everyday reflecting my mood or about things that happened that particular day.

These two spreads were made of day at my workplace and includes both observational and sketches with the big cats I was working with on that particular day. Even though I really liked the way these colleges turned out, I still felt that my compositions were a little rusty and didn't work as well along with other mediums therefore decided to forgo drawing for now, and focus solely on brushing up on my composition skills.

This spread was the first one I tried to create solely with paper and I wanted to play around with teared edges and less than perfect spacing in order to create a more organic looking spread. I also dabbled roughly in colour and used orange as my pop of colour. I wasn't particular in the best of moods on the fist day therefore I created a messy , overwhelming collage. However, I was feeling a lot better on the next day, so I decided to use negative space to contrast with the busyness on the previous page and give the people viewing my work a space to breathe after such a busy composition.

Overall, I find this a very positive and rewarding challenge as I am much more confident in my composition now and with limited access to my supplies, I was forced to take turns and round over corners which has helped me in loosening up my work and therefore bringing back an organic feel to it. I have also continued since back in Norwich and have been able to take my collages further with more supplies and sources around me.
