More Collages

My trip to the Aviation Museum and seeing all the mechanical drawings/diagrams, I was inspired to make collages that incorporates these elements as well as provide space for any reportage drawings that I may want to include in the future. Eventhough I have chosen not to go forward with aircrafts, I still felt that this would be good practice for me to familiarise myself with text and image and working with texts and images of different sizes.

Luckily I had an old mechanics magazine at home , therefore I was able to source illustrations and elements that were actually accurate to the time.

This practice I found very useful as it has confronted me with a lot of problems such as colours that were chosen clashing on the page,resulting in me having to layer more elements on top and pair images across pages to tie the pages together. Furthermore as I have chosen to source quite a lot of my elements and ephemera pieces from old vintage magazines, lots of the colours were already pre-chosen therefore I was pushed to work with colours which I have may not have worked with before and try to match them with existing colours that I may have been more comfortable with. All in all, I would love to repeat this when I have chosen the new subject in which to base my editorial on.
