Graphic design is the basic

But fundamental design is a must

What duties and responsibilities do you have in your position ?

Chef retail and merchandising officer and creative director

What are you in charge of on a day to day basis ?

Responsible for driving the domestic and international retail business through strategic planning, inventory management and thorough commercial analysis. Under Cartoon Network brand licensee

• Directly deal with Cartoon Network Enterprises, Asia Pacific for their approval for the product design artworks.

• Work in conjunction with the Purchasing, Allocation, Visual merchandising, and the Corporate Planning teams.

I mostly direct all graphic design for retail and approved design before submit for CN headquarter to approve

What is commercial analysis ?

What are key design aspects that need to be incorporated in order to be approved by the headquarters

Marketing planning for retail business

Key design is to strictly with the branding style guide

Can't change characters of the cartoon or colour

In design department we have style guild as bible have every single detail of cartoon characters

Color, font, pattern, proportion

How long does it usually take from receiving a prompt to submitting the design to the Headquarters?

Its depend on deadlines

And plan with retail product

Sometimes design range of product collection need to finish design in a week

Sometimes in 2-3days

Do you work independently or with a design team ?

Do departments work together ?

With design team

Usually they work from my design direction

And design team will do art work preparing for supplier

I only work under CEO

Do you find it difficult to work with the design team ?

Not really

Maybe because I been teaching design students before.

As long as design direction is very clear.

After interviewing her, I realised that this may not be the best path to go forward as I can find it very difficult to come up with ideas under strict rules and guidelines. However, this interview was still very interesting and informative and may I change my way of working, this is a very interesting path to go down
