Earlier on today, I was given a talk from Hugh Frost from Landfill Editions about the type of artwork Mould Map magazine includes and brief insight to what it was like to be an independent publisher. Mould Map is a book containing artwork from various artists that are passionate about a particular subject and each edition would choose a particular subject in which every artist will revolve their work around. Mould Map aims to display both visual and international transparencies.

Apart from getting really good ideas from seeing the artwork included in each publication, I was shown a way in which I can transform my own art into another by playing with colours and collage. For example, Jacob Ciotti incorporated a more refined biro drawing with digital collaging creating a very 3 dimensional piece that takes your eyes on a journal and every time you look at it, you spot something different about it.

Using comic as a way of narrating has been a field I previously thought was much too far from my own but after this presentation and seeing all the ways in which various artists incoperated and made the comic layout work perfectly work for their work inspired me to do the same. The work of the illustrator Viktor Hachmang ,included in Book of Void , really stood out to me as I have never seen this particular style of comic before and really fell in love with both his use of such strong colour combination and his simple yet strong narrative.
